What should you do with your children’s trophies? This is one of the most commonly asked questions when we are working in children’s bedrooms. Affordable Organization has found by working with kids that at about the age of 12, they start to lose their attachment to the shear volume of trophies they have collected. Instead, they now understand the meaning of actually “earning a trophy” verses “participation trophies”.
You may be surprised that if you ask your preteen or teenager if you can box some of the trophies or even throw them out, they may actually agree. Have the child select the ones that mean the most to them to remain on display, and the rest can move out of sight!
